Elizabeth & Alan’s Big Day

Here it is another gorgeous Cabra Castle wedding, this time Elizabeth & Alan’s big day and it was a glorious day the sun shone all day.

Elizabeth went to my school so I have known her for years, which made all communication and the flow of the day go so easy. I also photographed her lovely sister’s wedding two years ago, so knowing the family well was great. Alan is a Ballymena lad, so easy to get on with and I got to know him a little better at their engagement shoot in my studio.

We started the day at Elizabeth’s brother’s new home, so the girls had mega space to get pampered and their make up perfected by the talented Stacey of S.A.K Designs. I love working with Stacey, she has such a calm presence and is well organised which helps my morning run smooth and ensures they are ready in lots of time. Elizabeth’s dress was stunning (from Logan’s Bridal), I adored the lace detail, especially on the chest and her maid’s dresses were equally as elegant in navy (one of my fave colours!) these dresses were from Elody Bride Newry. The flowers by Ol Flowers, Armagh complimented the dresses, very soft for Spring.

Next it was on to Clare church set in the countryside, many well wishers came to see this bride. Not a nerve was in sight as she made her way up the path with her brother John. The boys were inside seated and calm as anything. We were treated during the service to wonderful music and singing by Sara Crockett (Alan’s sister) who sang later on during the first dance also – she wrote a song for the couple!

On to Cabra Castle we went, we got started with the couple photos outside then inside. This venue is a dream, in particular I love the gold room and the bridal suite with the freestanding bath (has a hot tub too!) – maybe my hubby will read this and book it for our anniversary? As soon as the photos were done everyone was ready for some bubbly and their yummy food, firstly we did the speeches though. I always find it amusing to hear stories from childhood, I feel I get to know my couples better. I just know you both had an amazing time and you have your Easter honeymoon to now look forward to.
